1. dedicate (verb)
To give completely your energy, time, etc
Ex1: Seattle Central Community College Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to bridging the gap between student need and available resources.
Ex2: The new President said she would dedicate herself to protecting the rights of the old, the sick and the homeless
2. ensure / insure (verb)
To make something certain to happen
Ex1: The Seattle Central Community College Foundation, led by a 25 member board of trustees, was created to help ensure that our self-motivated, hardworking students.
Ex2: The airline is taking steps to ensure safety on its aircraft
3. achieve (verb)
To succeed in finishing something or reaching an aim, especially after a lot of work or effort
Ex1: hardworking students - who have chosen to improve their lives through education - can achieve their goals.
Ex2: The government's training policy, he claimed, was achieving its objectives.
4. endowment (noun)
Money that is given to a college or hospital, etc. in order to provide it with an income, or the giving of this money

5. mission (noun)

6. strategic (noun)
Adetailed plan for achieving success in situations such as war, politics, business, industry or sport, or the skill of planning for such situations
Ex1: The president held an emergency meeting to discuss military strategy with his defence commanders yesterday.
Ex2: Their marketing strategy for the product involves obtaining as much free publicity as possible.
7. operational ( adjective )
Relating to a particular activity
Ex1: There are operational advantages in putting sales and admin in the same building.
Ex2: The mission of Seattle Central's Office of Planning & Research is to provide timely, valid and useful information to all College units and to lead the College in its strategic and operational planning efforts.
Ex3: Repairs have already begun and we expect the plant to soon be fully operational (= working correctly and completely)
8. integrity (noun)
The quality of being honest and having strong moral principles that you refuse to change
Ex1: No one doubted that the president was a man of the highest integrity.
Ex2: Our office is committed to quality, integrity, transparency, collaboration, and autonomy
9. transparency (noun)
The characteristic of being easy to see through
Ex1: The old-fashioned type of plastic lacked transparency
Ex2: A transparency is a picture you can show on a screen: They used transparencies to show pages of the new book
10. function (noun)
The natural purpose (of something) or the duty (of a person)
Ex1: The function of the veins is to carry blood to the heart.
Ex2: I'm not quite sure what my function is within the company.
